New iOS devices on their way this September

The new iPods are a month away from being announced and released.  So in true rumor mill fashion, the rumors have officially begun.  However this time the rumors include a little more than just new iPods.  iLounge has but together a laundry list of rumored items, and here they are:

• New iPod
• New iPad
• New iPhone
• iPhone 4 Bumpers Generation 0 and 2

Ok, lets take a look at each one of these.  According to iLounge there are three new iPods ready to go.  The first two are a given, the iPod Nano and the iPod Touch.  However the third one is a mystery.  Could it be a redesigned iPod Shuffle with the touch screen that was rumored earlier?  Or is it a new model in the iPod line-up?  Last year I had speculated that the iPod Classic would be retired, but to my dismay it was not.  However, I feel that last year was the last time you will see the iPod classic announced.  Whatever the new iPod will be is anyones guess at this point.

Let’s move on now to the iPad.  Apparently, there is going to be a 7” iPad that will be coming out sometime late this year or early next year.  If this rumor holds any water, I would have to say that we would see it next year, and not this year.  Like I’ve always said when it comes to these types of rumors with breaks in the scheduled release dates; is that Apple doesn’t break their release dates.  And, as much as everyone hopes they do, I don’t see this happening.  This dove tails nicely into the next rumor of an early iOS product release.

iLounge’s sources are saying that the next iPhone will have its release date pushed up to January 2011.  Even iLounge finds this hard to believe, and I’m inclined to find it hard to believe too.  This is just more wishful wanting of something that Apple will not change.  However, with that said they’re speculating that it might be the same innards of the iPhone 4, but with a different case.  This to me is even more far fetched than the release date pushed up.  Apple is about simplicity, not complexity.

The final rumor falls to the iPhone 4 Bumpers.  Whatever your feelings towards the whole antennagate may be, I have to give Apple major props for giving away Bumpers to satisfy their customers.  I digress.  Apparently, Apple is going to release a different and less expensive to make version of their Bumpers after September to be given away.  I guess that is why they gave September 30th as the cutoff date for the current iPhone 4 Bumpers.

I’m excited to see what comes out of Cupertino with the release of their new iOS devices later this year.  Again these are rumors, and they can change, so take all of this with a grain of salt.  I guess we will all have to wait with baited breathe till September to see if any of this rumors come to fruition.
