From the beginning of Apples app store, users have wanted the option to try apps out before they buy them. This makes since. The last thing you want to do is buy an app and find out that it is either not as advertised or it doesn’t fit your needs or it just sucks. Well, finally after all these years Apple now has “Try “before you Buy ” section in the app store. Sadly this new section fails at everything. When you go to the “Try before you Buy” section, you are presented with “lite” versions of the apps, instead of the actual paid version to try. Some may ask what the problem is with this option. Well, I will tell you. Lite versions of apps are often missing key features that the paid app offers. It could be anything from levels in games, to the ability to do wifi linking and so on. It really is a shame.
It all comes down to Apple needing to take a page from Android. On the Android market, you have 24 hours after you have paid for an app to return it for a refund. This allows you to try an app out, and if you don’t like it, you return it. The program works very well for the user. Oh, and the Android market also has “lite” versions of some apps as well.
